For more than a week, President Trump has been feuding with the widow of Sgt. La David T. Johnson, one of four U.S. Special Forces soldiers killed in Niger.
The feud initially began when Congresswoman Frederica Wilson revealed that Trump called Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson and said her husband “knew what he signed up for.” Trump said he made no such statement, then backtracked when it was corroborated, and had Gen. Kelly declare that such a statement is a perfectly normal thing to say to a widow.
Trump then took to Twitter to defend himself yet again. “Look, just stop,” Meyers said. “Stop tweeting, stop responding. Do what a normal, decent human being would do: apologize and then be quiet.”
