Seth Meyers criticizes Trump’s lie about a Senator being in the hospital

After news broke that the Graham-Cassidy bill would not go to a vote because Republicans Senators could not get enough votes to pass it, Trump made the excuse that a senator was “in the hospital.”

Of course, that was not true. On Thursday’s Late Night, Seth Meyers took a “Closer Look” at the GOP’s taxes and healthcare plans, and mocked the president for the “hospital” comment.

“What are you talking about?” Meyers asked Trump. “I’m starting to think, the next time you have a chance, you might consider dropping by a hospital, for just some of the basic tests, you know?”

Apparently, Senator Thad Cochran was at home recovering from a urological issue, but was not in the hospital.

“This is how bad things are now. The president spreads so many insane rumors, senators have to issue statements letting everyone know they’re OK. This is the first presidency where you have to check in safe on Facebook.”
