Michael Che and Colin Jost have their say about Charlottesville

The news moves pretty fast these days. It’s been less than a week since the violence in Charlottesville, but it feels like everyone has had their say on the alt-right rally. However, Michael Che and Colin Jost could not let the week go by without giving their two cents on Trump’s defense of neo-Nazis.

“You’re not going to believe this, but President Trump’s approval rating is down,” Colin Jost joked on Thursday’s Weekend Update. “Trump can’t believe it either because everywhere he goes people are always waving to him,” he said, showing a picture of a crowd of Nazis giving the Sieg Heil salute.

“I don’t want to do this,” Michael Che admitted, when the cameras turned to him. “Nazis? Confederates? What is with these old-timey threats making a comeback? What’s next, Vikings? Polio?”

Trump said Wednesday that there were “fine people” on both sides of the rally last weekend. “OK, but if you are a fine person and you happen to be at a rally filled with Nazis, at what point do you stop and think, ‘Hey, am I being unreasonable?’”
