Trevor Noah is loving this Donald Trump Jr. story. At this point, he’s “not even waiting for Curb Your Enthusiasm to come back now. This is the best comedy show ever.” That is how, on Tuesday’s Daily Show, Noah reacted to news that Donald Trump Jr. tweeted email proof that he set up a meeting with a Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya to get dirt on Hillary Clinton.
“Oh, cursed irony! The emails giveth the presidency and the emails shall taketh it away!” Noah cried out, referring to Trump’s use of Clinton’s email server to turn voters against her.
“This two-legged brain foreclosure thought the best way to get out of this mess would be to jump into it himself,” Noah remarked, as Don Jr. tweeted the emails after he learned The Times was going to publish them. “He was basically the guy in the movie cornered at the edge of the cliff and everybody’s like, ‘We’ve got you surrounded!’ He says, ‘That’s what you think,’ and he then just fell. And you’re like, ‘Hey, you’re falling to your death!’ And he’s like, ‘It’s not a death if it’s suicide!’”
Regarding the random cast of characters revealed in Don Jr’s emails, Noah said, “I have a serious question: Does the Trump family know anybody normal? Because everyone around them is a cartoon.”
