Apparently on Monday, Sean Spicer held a press briefing, but told reporters they could not record the briefing using video or audio devices, saying that Trump himself should be the only voice speaking for his presidency. As Stephen Colbert revealed on Tuesday’s Late Show, there were other reasons for Spicer’s refusal.
“At yesterday’s press briefing, not only did Spicer not allow cameras, he also prohibited audio recordings,” Colbert said. “That’s a big change from his usual press briefings, where only information is prohibited.”
When asked why Spicer would prohibit video in a briefing, Steve Bannon said it was because “Sean got fatter.”
“Ow!” Colbert exclaimed. “That is a low blow from a guy who looks like he’s either got the meat sweats or is sweaty meat.”
Meanwhile, there are reports that Spicer is stepping down as Press Secretary. “What? Why? When? Sean, I have so many questions!” Colbert remarked. “If you go, who will not answer them?”
