SNL’s Kate McKinnon reenacts Jeff Sessions testimony on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’

Saturday Night Live is on summer break, and Kate McKinnon can’t stand it. There is so much to parody this year she’s having a hard time going months without having a platform for her impressions.

On Tuesday’s Late Night, though, McKinnon got a chance to bring back one her best impressions of the past year: Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Just that morning, Sessions had testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee about his interactions with President Trump regarding Russia and his meeting alleged with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

McKinnon put on her best “Grinch” grin, and went through a few jokes she would have told if SNL were airing this weekend.

“Now with Sergey Kislyak, now I only met him two times,” McKinnon said. “OK, three times. But the third time was in a men’s restroom. And we was just talking about what a trial it is to get soap out of those electric soap dispensers.”

“As for Jim Comey, he asked me to keep Trump out of his way, right?” she continued. “And they’re sayin’ I didn’t respond. But the truth is, I didn’t hear him. Now, this guy’s about six-foot-eight and I had heard a sound above my head. I thought it was a cicada.”
