On Monday’s Late Night, Seth Meyers took a “Closer Look” at the most recent Russia news, including recent news about Michael Flynn. The former National Security Adviser’s request for immunity is the latest in a series of controversies pointing to Trump’s Russia ties.
There is “no evidence connecting the dots that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to help him win the election…But there are so many dots,” Meyers joked. “We are covered in dots. The Trump presidency is basically a 6-year-old with chicken pox. And the rest of us are so f—king itchy.”
Flynn wants immunity in exchange for testifying against the Trump administration. “Does it mean Flynn is worried about criminal prosecution? Or is he just afraid he can’t get a fair hearing? There’s a lot of conjecture swirling around. And I just wish someone would tell us straight up: What does it mean when you’re given immunity?”
Cue the clip of Flynn saying “When you are given immunity, that means you have probably committed a crime.”
“Great. Thank you, Mike Flynn,” remarked Meyers. Watch the clip for the rest of Meyers’ reaction.
