Seth Meyers took a “Closer Look” on Tuesday’s Late Night at whether chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes is investigating President Trump or working with him. Rep. Nunes, a former member of Trump’s transition team, has acted pretty strangely since he began investigating the president.
Last week, Nunes apparently discovered information that proved Trump’s team was surveilled during the campaign, but instead of bringing this information to his fellow Intelligence Committee members, Nunes went straight to Trump at the White House.
Reports about Nunes’ actions reveal that the night before he revealed this information, he jumped out of a car and into an Uber and disappeared, then showed up at the White House unannounced and undetected. “This whole thing is starting to turn into an episode of Dateline,” said Meyers.
“Nunes has been running around D.C. like he’s James Bond just to find out where Trump had dinner? That surveillance feed must have been pretty boring,” Meyers said, impersonating Trump, “I’ll have the 12-piece bucket, extra crispy, in fact it should be the same color as my skin. Thank you. I hope this isn’t being tapped.”
