Trevor Noah on TrumpCare: ‘Premature Legislation Doesn’t Make Anyone Happy’

Trevor Noah reacted on Thursday’s Daily Show to news that Republicans would delay the vote on their healthcare bill. The GOP has had a hard time selling the Obamacare replacement to fellow Republicans and decided to delay until they could whip up some more support.

“Are you serious? Seven years. The day that the Republicans have been planning for seven years arrives, and all of a sudden they don’t have their shit together?” remarked a nonplussed Noah. He then pointed out that Drake and Beyoncé plan their albums in private then one day release a perfect product. Meanwhile, “these Republican geniuses” have been hyping their new bill for seven years and the product is worthless.

Much has been said about how quickly and unceremoniously the bill was devised, and both Democrats and Republicans have criticized the bill since it was announced.

“Hey Republicans, I know you’re excited that you’re finally in power, but slow down,” Noah said. “Health care is a long-term commitment, not a one-night stand. Take it from me: Premature legislation doesn’t make anyone happy.”
