Stephen Colbert gives the rundown on the GOP’s ‘three bucket’ TrumpCare strategy

On Wednesday’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert explained the latest strategy from the Republicans regarding their TrumpCare bill. “For weeks now, Republicans have been pushing their ObamaCare replacement plan, but the bill has a pre-existing condition,” Colbert said in his monologue. “Everybody hates it.”

Since Republicans are having such a hard time convincing people to like their bill, they announced that they are rebranding and “introducing the ‘three-bucket strategy,'” Colbert explained. “So no health care, but with all those buckets, think of how much you’ll save on urns.”

“Maybe it’s not literal buckets,” Colbert said. “You know, since so many people are losing health care they’re just saying, ‘Quick, do the first three things on your bucket list.'”

Meanwhile, Trump’s team has been trying their best to distract the president from all the latest bad news about his administration. “If positive coverage helps calm down the big angry man with the launch codes, I say do it,” said Colbert. So he brought back his Real News Team to coddle the president. Watch the clip for more.
