Seth Meyers looks at Republican reactions to CBO report on healthcare bill

On Wednesday’s Late Night, Seth Meyers took a “Closer Look” at the latest CBO report and responses from Paul Ryan and President Trump about the news. The Congressional Budget Office released the numbers on the GOP replacement for Obamacare, declaring that 24 million people would lose their health insurance.

Paul Ryan said he was “encouraged” by the report, but Meyers pointed out that the Speaker probably meant another “E” word as he showed a clip of Montgomery Burns from The Simpsons saying “Excellent” in typical villainous fashion.

Trump of course attacked the CBO after the report, despite giving the committee high praise during the Obama years.

“The only constant in all of this is Trump loves something if it agrees with him and hates it if it doesn’t,” Meyers said. He later said, “We can’t be sure if we’re supposed to take him literally.”

“One thing we do know, is we can’t believe his promises on healthcare.”
