Stephen Colbert mocks Paul Ryan’s response to millions losing healthcare

On Monday, the Congressional Budget Office revealed that 24 million people would lose health insurance under the replacement for Obamacare. Stephen Colbert mocked Paul Ryan’s reaction to the news during Tuesday’s Late Show monologue.

Trumpcare, as it’s being called, has received harsh criticism since Republicans revealed their plan last week, but when the CBO announced their report that millions would lose insurance under the plan, Speaker Ryan said it “exceeded my expectation.”

“Really? 24 million people losing their healthcare ‘exceeded your expectations?’” Colbert asked. “You sound like the most optimistic guy in the Donner party. ‘Oh, everything is great, I expected to eat my grandma miles ago, now excuse me I’ve got to go salt my cousin.’”
