On Wednesday’s Late Show, Patrick Stewart joined Stephen Colbert to parody Samuel Beckett’s famous play, Waiting for Godot. Though this time, instead of waiting for a character who may never show, Colbert and Stewart are waiting for the elusive Obamacare replacement.
“Do you think a replacement will come?” asks Stephen to Stewart, both dressed in dirty suits and bowler hats, waiting beneath a tree on a moonlit night. “He said it would come,” responds Stewart.
“Perhaps it will come today,” says Colbert. “Or tomorrow,” continues Stewart.”Or the day after that,” adds Colbert. “If we wait, it will come,” concludes Stewart.
“Why hasn’t it come already?” asks an eager Stephen. “He said it was more complicated than anyone thought,” explains Patrick. Watch the clip to see if it ever comes.
