Seth Meyers looks at the holes in Trump’s immigration policy

Seth Meyers took a “Closer Look” on Wednesday’s Late Night at President Trump’s immigration reform and had a few unanswered questions about the border wall. The administration has ramped up their talks of immigration policy in the last couple weeks. Even though studies have shown that Mexicans are leaving the US, and that immigrants are less likely to commit violent crimes than Americans, “Trump is still moving ahead with his plans to ramp up deportations and build a border wall.”

“Now, there are still many questions about Trump’s wall, including who will build it,” Meyers said. “And apparently before he even took office, Trump started reaching out to private developers to see if they’d be interested.” Trump asked his friend, Miami developer Jorge Perez, to build the wall, but Perez said, “The wall is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen or heard in my life.” Meyers added, “And for someone who has known Donald Trump for years, that’s a high bar.”

Many Republicans are even walking back claims about the wall, saying it was meant to be an analogy instead of a real wall. “So the wall is see through, but impenetrable. An analogy, but also real,” said Meyers. “Don’t you see, Dorothy? The wall was inside you all along. You’re the wall. You’re all the wall.”
