Trevor Noah thinks Trump might just bumble his way to peace in the Middle East

On Wednesday’s Daily Show, Trevor Noah recapped Trump’s joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During the meeting, Trump discussed peace in Israel and said he would be fine with either a one-state or two-state solution—whichever works—as if he had no idea that’s exactly what the problem was.

“Did this guy just tell us the problem like it’s the solution?” Trevor asked. “Trump would be the best hostage negotiator ever,” Noah remarked, then imagining Trump talking into a bullhorn. “Whatever makes both the hostage takers and the hostages happy, that works for me!”

On the controversial and sensitive subject of settlements, Trump just straight up asked Netanyahu to “hold back on settlements for a little bit.”

“You know, Trump is either a genius or he’s the biggest idiot the world has ever seen. Because I honestly wonder if Trump’s plan is to be such a bumbling fool, that Israel and Palestine are going to get together in a room and go, ‘I think we can both agree, that guy’s a f—king moron. We’d better sort this problem before he tries to help out.”
