Leslie Jones wants to replace Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump on SNL

“I never dreamed I could play the president. But then Melissa played Spicer and I was like, ‘Yo, why can’t I play Trump?’”

Donald Trump will be president for the next four years. Alec Baldwin will probably not be available to satirize him on Saturday Night Live all that time, so there will come a time when they replace him with another actor. Leslie Jones thinks it should be her.

After Melissa McCarthy played a gender-swapped Sean Spicer on last week’s SNL, White House insiders revealed that Trump did not like the portrayal because he believed that using a female actor to play Spicer made him look week. So, in order to really vex Trump, SNL may just want to gender-swap every member of his administration.

As we see Jones preparing for the role, including putting on a wig and dressing up in the typical Trump suit, Jones’ castmates ask her if this is a jab at Trump’s “fragile masculinity” or if it’s a “Hamilton thing.” But Jones only has one reason: “It’s about giving America what it wants!”
