On Thursday’s Daily Show, Trevor Noah discussed Trump’s penchant for using his power to make money, despite claiming otherwise. “It’s not a surprise that Trump is looking to cash in,” observed Noah. “We saw this coming when, during the inauguration, he put his hand on the Bible and swore to ‘Get rich or die trying.'”
“Look at what he’s done to the Department of Defense. He’s turning them into his tenants,” Noah said, referring to the administration’s proposal that the DoD move into Trump Tower to be close to Trump when he’s in New York.
“The president is now the landlord in chief,” Noah said, mimicking a tenant. “You know what I hate about my landlord? He doesn’t fix my pipes, and he made me invade Iran.”
Trevor predicted that the president will probably just move back to Trump Tower, and at that point, “He’s going to be spending so little time at the White House, I wouldn’t be surprised if he listed it on Airbnb.”
