Seth Meyers condemns Trump for using his power to sell Ivanka’s clothes

Seth Meyers took a “Closer Look” on Thursday’s Late Night at Trump’s latest abuses of power, including using his Twitter to support Ivanka’s brand. Nordstrom dropped Ivanka’s clothing line last week, so Trump tweeted attacks on Nordstrom in support of his favorite daughter.

Apart from the obvious ethical problems with this, Seth Meyers latched on to the fact that Trump sent the tweet Wednesday morning, 20 minutes after his intelligent briefing started. “Why was he free when that happened?” Meyers asked. “Did the briefing really take less than 20 minutes? I feel like the president’s daily intelligence briefing should take longer than an episode of Vanderpump Rules.”

In defense of Trump, Kellyanne Conway went on Fox News and shilled for Ivanka’s brand, blatantly stating that she would do a quick “commercial” before advertising the clothing line. “From now on, the only network Kellyanne Conway should be allowed on is QVC,” Seth remarked. Watch the clip to see Meyers discuss Trump’s latest abuses of power.
