On Thursday’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert put President Trump “on notice” for stealing a bit he used to do on The Colbert Report. After Iran tested a ballistic missile, Trump tweeted that he would be putting the country “ON NOTICE.” But as Colbert pointed out, he used to put people “on notice” on his Comedy Central show. And that’s not the only bit he accused Trump of stealing from him.
“I came up with the whole over-the-top TV character who’s desperate to be loved, doesn’t believe in facts, and has a pet eagle,” Colbert asserted, showing a clip of Trump being nipped at by a Bald Eagle. “Plus, we both ran for president. Only one of us new it was a joke,” Colbert remarked, referring to his own attempt to get on the ballot in 2007.
“So, for stealing my old act, I am putting Donald Trump on notice!” He then brought out the old On Notice board, which still featured Mike Huckabee, Ok Go, and Grizzly Bears, of course. Watch the clip to see Stephen put Trump’s name on the board.
