Seth Meyers took “A Closer Look” on Monday’s Late Night at the events of the long weekend and Donald Trump’s inauguration and first days in office. Trump’s presidency started off with what may be the largest protest in American history. The Women’s March drew millions of people into the streets of every major city. Even women in Antarctica went outside to show their support. “Imagine being so disliked that people are willing to go outside and protest you in Antarctica,” remarked Seth.
Perhaps the biggest story of the weekend, though, ended up being Trump’s inauguration audience. After news outlets pointed out that Trump failed to attract the same numbers as Obama, Trump’s Press Secretary Sean Spicer lied about the numbers, saying, “This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration. Period.” “Period?” questioned Seth. “Don’t you mean double question marks?” Kellyanne Conway defended the lie, calling it “alternative facts.” Watch the clip to see what Meyers had to say about that.
