Seth Meyers took “A Closer Look” on Tuesday’s Late Night at Donald Trump’s transition team setting up his administration. Trump has caused huge controversy by picking RNC chair Reince Priebus and former Breitbart editor Steve Bannon, whose publication peddles white nationalism and anti-Semitism. Even Glenn Beck is terrified of having Bannon steps from the Oval Office. “You know the world has gone insane when Glenn Beck and Bernie Sanders are on the same page,” Meyers said. “For them to be on the same page, the book has to be one page long,” and it must read, “We’re all F#@!ed. The End.”
Trump is also walking back on many of his claims that he’ll “drain the swamp” in Washington, and he wants his children in his administration, which creates a conflict of interest. “So all we know so far about Trump’s transition is that there’s infighting among his advisers, and there may not be a firm division between his presidency and his business.” We also know he is walking back on the wall and it might be just a fence now.
Newt Gingrich said the claims Trump made over the last year were just a “campaign device.” Meyers clarified, “A campaign device, or in layman’s terms, a f*cking lie,” he said, before giving an example. “Hey, honey, now that we’re married I’m not going to give you a beautiful house and the three children after all. That was an engagement device.”
