On Wednesday’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert tore into Congress and the Pentagon for clawed-back troop bonuses. America has a $19 trillion national debt, $4.8 trillion of which is the result of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. But now the government is trying to gain some of that back by demanding $100 million from troops distributes as a result of a clerical error. “Congratulations, military, you’ve somehow made me feel good about my credit card company,” said Stephen. Watch the clip to see Colbert tear into the Pentagon for demanding this of troops, and Congress for knowing about it.
