On Monday’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert sat down with President Obama to help him prepare for his next job after he leaves office in January. “I don’t see any promotions for the last eight years, that’s not always good. Can you explain that?” Colbert asked the president, who responded, “Honestly, there wasn’t a lot of room for advancement in my last job. The only one with a more powerful position was my wife.”
Colbert then asked Obama why he was leaving his current job. The president claimed it was required by the 22nd Amendment, but Colbert wouldn’t accept that answer. “When you say that staying at your old job would be unconstitutional, what employers hear is that you stole office supplies.” Watch the clip for more.
