Trevor Noah rips into Trump’s attempts to woo black voters

"You know things are bad when a rich white man is asking black people for help."

On Wednesday’s Daily Show, Trevor Noah slammed Donald Trump’s attempts to woo black voters. Trump made a speech to African-American voters in Wisconsin Tuesday, but chose to make the speech in West Bend, a town that is 95 percent white, instead of the diverse city of Milwaukee.

“You know things are bad when a rich white man is asking black people for help,” Trevor jokes. “Because normally the only time a 70-year-old billionaire is asking black people for help, it is usually their nurse. And it is usually because they shit themselves. And technically the Trump campaign has, so I guess it makes sense.”

The main point of Trump’s speech was to blame the Obama Administration for stoking racial flames and inciting violence against cops.

“So wait, Donald Trump is implying that the only reason black communities feel oppressed isn’t because of their experiences,” Noah said. “No, it’s because of the Democrats who have tricked them.”

Trevor took this opportunity to use Baltimore as evidence that systemic racism exists in our justice system. In one example, the Baltimore template for arrest reports was black, except for “Black male,” which was pre-populated.

“Next time someone tells you the narrative of racial bias in policing is made up, maybe you can use this template,” Trevor said, taking out his own template. “What you do is you fill in the date, the place where it happened, and the name of the person who dismissed your racial claim. And there is one field that we can prefill, because the person who is telling you this, they are always a jackass.”
