Seth Meyers took a ‘Closer Look’ at Day Two of the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday’s Late Night.
After Bernie Sanders made his speech endorsing Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump tweeted that he welcomes any disaffected Sanders supporters who still want to see a revolution happen. He then kicked a Bernie supporter out of his own rally.
“That’s okay, don’t worry about it,” Trump said as a protester disrupted his speech. “That’s the dying remnants of a Bernie person. That’s the last of ’em! No! We’re going to get Bernie people coming here. We’re gonna get Bernie people coming here. Yeah, you can get him out, go ahead. That’s alright.”
Meyers couldn’t help but mock him. “We’re gonna win Bernie supporters. Now forcibly remove that Bernie supporter from our rally. That’s the last of ’em! There’s none left! And they’re voting for me.”
Seth then moved on to the throwback of the night. Howard Dean reenacted the 2004 speech that ruined his campaign. “That is not that long ago,” said Meyers. “Remember when acting crazy on TV was a liability, instead of, you know, a platform?”
