Stephen Colbert brought the ‘Hungry for Power Games’ to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Monday’s live Late Show. Dressed as his character, Julius Flickerman, complete with blue wig and fake weasel, Colbert made jokes about the venue before trying to elude security to rush the stage like he did at the Republican National Convention last week.
Colbert appeared in front of the arena to announce this convention would finally be “a chance for Hillary to prove to the Bernie delegates that she is not a puppet of the big banks. And what better place than the Wells Fargo Arena!”
As he entered, Colbert made jokes about the venue. “Here at the DNC all lifestyles are welcome, be you gay, straight or pain in the ass,” he said, pointing out a ‘Gluten-Free Zone’ sign.
He made fun of the bathrooms and the carpet and talked to Jake Tapper about his weasel’s relationship with Chuck Todd’s goatee, before trying very hard to do the one thing he came to the arena to do: rush the stage.
