Before he gave away $15 million in medical debt on Sunday’s Last Week Tonight, John Oliver discussed Trump University, The Donald’s “bait-and-switch” scheme that swindled thousands of ordinary Americans looking to get ahead in the business world.

“Trump University wasn’t even a university, which makes you wonder: what the f—k was in Trump Steaks? Possum?” Oliver asks in the clip above. “But the name was just the beginning, because remember how he had ‘handpicked instructors?’ Well, according to his own depositions, he did not personally select instructors for live seminars, and was unable to recall the names of key faculty members.”

“According to sworn testimony by several former employees, many instructors and mentors had no experience buying and selling real estate,” a couple instructors coming from Lowe’s and Buffalo Wild Wings. “A member of Trump’s own sales staff testified that it was…’just selling false hopes and lies.'”

This should not surprise anyone who knows anything about how Trump operates, but if anyone is still uncertain about their plan to vote for Trump, John Oliver suggests they heed Trump University’s own advice: “Take the risk, but before you do, know what you’re getting yourself into.”
