On Wednesday, The Daily Show‘s Hasan Minhaj spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a two-part series on Canada’s acceptance of Syrian refugees (Parts one and two are joined in the clip above). The Canadian government has formally welcomed 25,000 refugees from Syria, and even more refugees have been invited over by independent groups.

Of course, this has caused fear in America that these people might cross the border, but in part one of the segment, a Canadian panel of refugee advocates shuts down that idea right away. “This isn’t about you. We’re doing this for ourselves and we’re doing it for the refugees we’re bringing,” says a woman from the group. “Don’t you have more Americans dying from gun incidents and mass shootings than from terrorism every year?”

As Minhaj tries to point out that even one terrorist in the group should be enough to spoil the whole bunch, a panelist says, “That’s not how we look at it. We wouldn’t blame all Syrians for that one Syrian. We don’t blame all Americans for Donald Trump.”

In the second part, Minhaj sits down to “roast” Justin Trudeau on the subject, but of course Trudeau stand his ground. Minhaj asks,”Why are you trying to destroy North America? You’re letting anyone walk in and just f—k it up.”

Trudeau responds, “North America was built with people fleeing persecution, conflicts, wars, trying to build a better life for themselves and their families,” saying Canada has faith in refugees. Watch the clip to see Trudeau also defend Nickelback.
