On this week’s Saturday Night Live, Kate McKinnon brought back her perfect Hillary Clinton impression to mock the Democratic presidential candidate’s recent campaigning in New York. Clinton is a former senator of New York, but she does not embody the New York City spirit that her Brooklyn-born opponent, Bernie Sanders, does. So, she has been trying hard to pander to New Yorkers, hoping the state will hand her a win after her recent string of primary losses. “It’s true, I have not been winning as of late. In fact, I have not won a state in almost three weeks,” says McKinnon’s Clinton. “I’m the underdog.”
Setting her sights on the NY primary, “Clinton” says, “God, I love being back in the ‘Fat Apple,’ my home state, except for Illinois and Arkansas.” She puts on a Yankees hat, which has to be switched every minute to a Mets hat, and she makes plans to see what NYC has to offer. “Later tonight, I’m going to take in that hot, new Broadway show that has NYC abuzz: Chicago.”
“So, see New Yorkers, I’m just like all of you,” she insists. “I never sleep, I’m in a hurry to get to work. And when I’m running, I really hate it when a slow, old Jew gets in my way.” Watch the clip to see her try to get through a subway turnstile.
