On Thursday’s Late Night, Seth Meyers to “A Closer Look” at the continuing water crisis in Flint, Michigan. Last week, Flint made news when it was reported that the water supply was corroding lead pipes and turning the water into poison. Many are calling for Governor Rick Snyder’s resignation after it was determined that he was aware of the crisis long before anyone did anything. Seth is upset, because, “as Americans, there are certain things we take for granted. The McRib will always come back, Mark Harmon will always be on TV, and we’ll always have clean drinking water.” But in Flint that is not the case. The water contained more than twice the amount of pollutants of what the EPA considers toxic waste. “That’s right, the water was twice as poisonous as toxic waste, or just slightly less poisonous than a Monster energy drink.” An investigation is now showing that there was a cover up as reports were altered that would have shown toxic levels in the water. Gov. Snyder said he spoke out as soon as he knew, but it seems that wasn’t the case. A local resident calls that bullcrap, and bullcrap is “still healthier to drink than Flint’s water.”

Check out what Trevor Noah and Larry Wilmore had to say about the water crisis.
