Stephen Colbert responds to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris on Monday’s Late Show. On Saturday, 195 countries agreed to take steps toward combatting climate change in a milestone international consensus to ensure that earth remains hospitable for human life. “That is setting the bar about as low as you could possibly go,” Stephen says. “As your president, I promise you, something will live!” Republican candidates and pundits have responded by calling Obama’s presence at the conference completely unnecessary. “They’re very consistent. They oppose Obamacare and Obama-air. They just have to find a way to repeal and replace the environment.” Stephen wants to do what he can to give up fossil fuels, but he has a hard time saying goodbye to his good friend, crude oil.
