Billy Eichner brought Katie Couric to Billy on the Street for an extravagant parody of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Billy is known for shouting trivia and throwing dollars to passersby in New York, but he has recently begun adding a bit of satire to his show on TruTV. Last week, Amy Sedaris burst through the television glass ceiling and pushed through self-possessed white people in Shondaland, an obstacle course journey through the life and shows of Shonda Rhimes. The week before, Billy mashed up bro and Broadway as he tailgated before a performance of Wicked with Jason Sudeikis. This week, Billy pulled out all the stops for his parade parody.

This clip reveals Billy’s version of what the iconic parade would be like if he ran the show—a parade modified to represent more current American values, like Rooney Mara, the former Showtime series United States of Tara, and the logo for SNL 40. He also takes the opportunity to throw a few jabs at SNL holiday specials, publicists, and the parade itself for using floats and balloons to market upcoming films to kids. Watch the video to see Billy’s tribute to Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sean Penn, and Mark Ruffalo.
