On Thursday’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert reacted to Wednesday’s Republican presidential debate, but the focus this time was on the format and moderators. CNBC moderators were bullied all night because they were “unburdened by a shred of respect.” They asked, what Stephen calls, “the most disrespectful question since the Lincoln-Douglas debate started with, ‘Mr. Lincoln, douchebag says What?'”

The Republican candidates did not shy away from berating the moderators for their question, but it was Donald Trump, the “knight in shining bronzer,” who saved the debate by negotiating the length down to two hours from the previous three and a half. Stephen dons a hat in support of Trump, saying, “You’ve earned my vote, as long as you can negotiate your presidency down from four years to…ya know, two hours feels about right.”
